The Danbury Museum and Historical Society concentrates on highlighting local history. The museum features late 19th and early 19th century furnishings, Revolutionary War exhibits and woodworking exhibits. The Museum also maintains the Mary Rider House, which was built in 1785.

Staffed by volunteers, the Danbury Railway Museum exhibits a collection of 60 vintage rail cars and locomotives. Rail excursion trips are also offered, as well as weekend train rides in the rail yard.
